Lottery in Botswana
As of this writing, there is no national lottery in Botswana. However, this may soon change. The lottery operator known as Uthingo lost their license to operate in South Africa in 2007, and they are considering making a move to Botswana.
But Botswana does not have a law which allows for the operation of a national lottery, and that has led to a series of delays. Still, a bill is expected to be taken before the country’s Parliament in February of 2008.
